Portovenere

Portovenere and its archipelago were declared by Unesco as a World Heritage in 1997. The committee decided to included these places because it believes that Riviera Ligure of Levante between the Cinque Terre and Portovenere is a cultural area of exceptional value, it shows the harmonious relationship between man and nature, to which a landscape of extraordinary scenic beauty is owed, demonstrating a traditional way of life that has been preserved for a thousand years and continues to play an important socio-economic role in community life. In September 2001 another important recognition was received: the Liguria region established the Regional Natural Park of Porto Venere, which also includes Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto.

• Take the ferry boat from Lerici pier to PORTOVENERE,
  historic village (30’ trip). Departure and arrival times
• Visit San Pietro church and San Lorenzo church
• Bar Doria: A nice icecream and drinks at terrace whit sea view, great aperitif at sunset.

Palmaria Island

Palmaria Island is famous for its light trekking trails. All these routes pass through the woods, rocks, hills, plains and ancient buildings giving truly
indescribable views and sensations of the Mediterranean natural bush. From the top of the island, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over Portovenere.

• The boat goes from Porto Venere to Palmaria (3’ boat trip). You need to buy tickets at the pier.
• Visit Gabbiani Beach, both free beach and beathing establishment. Rocky beach with panoramic view of Porto Venere.
